Back in March I attended the Frankfurt Musikmesse. Beside having a wonderful time visiting Munich and other German attractions (and yes, including sampling some great food and beer!), I had the chance to witness first hand some of the newest products in digital audio production. iPad/iPhone software and hardware were definitely one of the hottest items at the show and there were several solutions and products that I found particularly interesting such as:

- Alesis IOMix (8 track, 4 Channel recorder mixer for iPad)
- Neyrinck V-Control Pro
- Sonoma Wireworks Studio Track, Four Track (for iPhone),  Guitar Tone Amp simulator
- RME Fireface UCX audio interface for iPad and Mac
- Blue Mic Sparkdigital for iPad

 Andrea Pejrolo is an assistant professor in the Contemporary Writing and Production department at Berklee College of Music and an associate professor at the New England Institute of Art.
